How do I prove my identity?
The Scrap Metal Dealers Act requires us to verify your identity when you scrap your car. This regulation applies across the UK.
A valid photo-card driving licence is all we need to confirm your full name, date of birth, and residential address.
If you don’t have a photo-card driving licence, you can provide an alternative form of photo ID along with separate proof of address. Below are the government-approved documents we accept:
Accepted Photo ID:
- Valid UK passport
- Valid passport issued by a European Economic Area (EEA) state
- Valid UK biometric immigration document
- Accepted Proof of Address (dated within the last 3 months):
- Bank or building society statement
- Credit or debit card statement
- Council tax statement or demand letter

Must my car be in good condition?
